Nusrat Ferdousi, born on June 18, 1975, in Khulna, is a highly experienced professional in audit and accounts with over twenty-five years of service in Bangladesh’s public sector. A proud member of the 20th Batch BCS (Audit & Accounts Cadre), she began her career on May 31, 2001, and has since held key financial roles across multiple government agencies.

Her academic background includes a Master’s in English from the University of Dhaka and a second Master’s in Public Policy and Governance from North South University, equipping her with a unique blend of analytical and policy-oriented expertise.

Throughout her career, she has demonstrated exceptional leadership in financial management and institutional accountability. She served as Chief Accounts & Finance Officer (CAFO) in the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Home Affairs, ensuring fiscal discipline and compliance. Later, as Financial Adviser and Chief Accounts Officer (Project) for Bangladesh Railway, she played a crucial role in budget oversight and financial reporting. Her contributions have consistently strengthened transparency and efficiency in public fund management.

Since joining the Power and Energy Audit Directorate as Director General on September 20, 2023, she has been instrumental in enhancing audit mechanisms within the energy sector. Her work reflects a deep commitment to governance, accountability, and sustainable development. With her extensive experience and policy acumen, she continues to drive impactful reforms in public financial administration, upholding the highest standards of integrity and professionalism.
